Your privacy—and your child's privacy—is our highest priority. FamTaskTic is built for families to manage chores and a customizable family reward currency. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. We follow all applicable U.S. COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and EU GDPR-K (child data protection) laws.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary for the app to function properly:

Parent Information

• Name, email address, and a secure password (for login)

• Currency preferences (custom currency name and icon for your family's reward system)

Child Information

• Child's first name or nickname (for identification within the family)

• Child's date of birth (used only to determine COPPA consent requirement)

• Task and reward records (chore lists, points earned, points redeemed)

We never collect:

• Geolocation data

• Contact information of children

• Behavioral or advertising data

• Device identifiers from child profiles

3. Parental Consent

• Child accounts cannot be created by children. Only verified parent accounts can create child profiles.

• When creating a child profile, parents must confirm they are the child's legal guardian.

• If a parent chooses not to approve consent, the child's data will not be stored or activated.

This step ensures compliance with COPPA Section 312.5(b).

4. How We Use Information

We use collected data only to:

• Manage chores and track completion.

• Award, deduct, and track reward points using the family's custom currency.

• Manage the reward catalog and process redemption requests.

• Notify users about task approvals, point changes, or redemption updates.

• Secure personalized app sessions.

We do not use information for:

• Targeted advertising

• Marketing to children

• Third-party tracking

5. Family Reward Currency & Points System

FamTaskTic includes a customizable family reward currency system that allows parents to create a points-based economy for their household. It is important to understand how this feature works:

What the Reward System Does

• Tracks reward points earned through chore completion within the app.

• Allows parents to define a custom currency name and icon (e.g., Coins, Stars, Kudos).

• Lets parents manually add or subtract points and set up a reward catalog that children can browse and redeem.

• Records all point transactions (earned, redeemed, and manually adjusted) for full transparency.

What the Reward System Does NOT Do

• It does not involve any real-world monetary transactions or currency exchange.

• It does not connect to bank accounts, payment processors, or financial institutions.

• Points have no cash value and exist solely within the FamTaskTic app.

• It does not control, restrict, or monitor your device's internet connection, apps, or any activity outside of FamTaskTic.

All reward data shown in the app is generated entirely within FamTaskTic based on chore rewards, parent adjustments, and redemptions. No external monitoring or device management is performed.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data. Data is only shared internally between the parent and their linked child account. All personal and private data stays within your control.

7. Data Security

We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard protections:

• All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS 1.3

• Data stored on our servers is encrypted with AES-256

• Passwords are stored using secure hashing algorithms (never stored in plain text)

• Data cached locally on your device for offline access relies on your device's built-in security features (such as device encryption when enabled)

Parents can delete accounts or child records at any time; deletion removes all linked data permanently.

8. Parents' Rights

Parents can:

• Access all information about their child's use of FamTaskTic.

• Update or correct information.

• Delete all personal data by choosing "Delete Account" within account settings.

Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

9. Data Retention

Data is stored only as long as necessary to provide the service. When a parent cancels an account, all associated data (including the child's) is deleted within 30 days.

10. International Compliance

• COPPA (U.S.): Fully compliant with parental consent and under-13 data protection.

• GDPR-K (EU/UK): Complies with Articles 8 and 17 governing children's personal data.

• California Privacy Rights (CPRA): Supports delete, access, and opt-out rights under CA law.

11. App Tracking Transparency

FamTaskTic does not track users across other companies' apps or websites. All data collected and displayed within the app—including reward point balances and activity history—is generated solely from activity within FamTaskTic. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), and we do not participate in any cross-app or cross-site tracking.

12. Third-Party Services

FamTaskTic uses RevenueCat, a third-party service, solely to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. All subscription purchases are processed exclusively through Apple's App Store or Google Play Store In-App Purchase system. No other payment mechanisms are used or supported within the app. RevenueCat is configured to comply with children's privacy laws (COPPA and GDPR-K).

What RevenueCat Collects

• Subscription status and purchase history (to manage your subscription)

• Anonymous device identifiers (for subscription validation only)

What RevenueCat Does NOT Collect

• Personal information from children

• Behavioral or advertising data

• Location data

• Contact information
